Black Isn’t Just for Winter

black-isnt-just-for-winter

Black is a staple in my wardrobe. I love color, too, don’t get me wrong. But black is just sleek, chic, and practical for anyone’s wardrobe. I feel like it’s the one color you can wear everyday, and it looks like a new outfit…even if it’s the same top every single day. No one knows somehow!

My favorite black top for the spring weather right now is this off the shoulder blouse from Pink Blush. It’s casual and dressy all at the same time. It’s the chameleon of tops. Off the shoulder styles (tops or dresses) are almost like putting on a piece of jewelry without putting jewelry on at all. It’s just automatically a bit fancier. And being a mom, I need to be able to look put together really quickly!

I paired it with my skinny Joe’s Jeans, pearl tassel necklace from White House Black Market, and favorite pair of Melissa flats. The necklace is sold out, but here are two great rose gold alternatives here and here. You can’t say that this black isn’t feeling springy with the rose gold, white, and blush accessories!

Hallen had to get in on a mommy and me monochromatic outfit as well! Her romper is releasing April 1st from Wicked Good Vibes, and is coming in a few different prints!

She always has so much fun finding stuff in nature and learning about it. It’s so fun to watch her learn what things do…like this dandelion, or today she learned what a beetle really was (not just in a book or on TV). Her and her little friends all sat outside in their diapers watching a green beetle crawl all over the grass, and they couldn’t stop laughing! Their cute giggles make even the worst days so good!

That’s making this spring even more fun. It’s like I get to relearn things, and just see everything with a fresh pair of eyes.

I also paired this blouse with one of my favorite “vintage” high waisted skirts. I say “vintage,” because I bought it from Zara when I was in college! So, it’s probably 10 years old! That makes me feel dated saying that out loud! But here are some similar styled skirts here and here.

These wedges (that I’ll be wearing until it turns cold again) are another favorite in my closet. I bought them three years ago for our baby moon to France! I’ll always spend a little more money for comfortable shoes, especially now that I’m old ha! They’re from Clarks. I wish they still had this style, because I’d buy them in every color. These shoes have so many good memories and miles attached to them. And after three years of a lot of walking, they’re still holding up really well! So, here are some newer Clarks to look at here and here.
