why-cant-my-mustache-fall-out

The postpartum shed has started. Y’all… this is the worst part of “recovery” for me. It happened at the exact same time with Hallen too. So, I’m hoping it’ll stop at 6 months as well. I feel like my hairline recedes five inches. Why does pregnancy come with such terrible side effects? In my head, I think it should make you more beautiful. Like…if my hair is going to fall out, why can’t my mustache hair fall out instead? That’s the hair I really don’t want! Or the unruly eyebrow hairs..or my…

spit-up-with-a-side-of-guilt

Y’all..this week I leave to go on my first ever “momcation.” I never left Hallen for an extended period of time when she was a baby, because I just couldn’t leave her side, and well…she needed me! I felt guilty leaving her to go have fun. I felt guilty for not being there for a fun moment that she may have. I felt guilty for her few minutes of crying that would inevitably happen when I closed the door and said goodbye. I felt guilty before even making plans, so I just didn’t make plans…

Sassy Toddlers

Look at the camera. Smile. Sit down. Stop hitting your sister. Stop hitting the dog with your stroller. Don’t throw that. Stay in your room until I come and get you. No, you can’t go outside without me! Stop pulling my hair! YOU HAVE TO WEAR PANTS!The words on repeat at our house lately. And I have no clue how it happened. Hallen was seriously the easiest baby on the planet. No lie. I could have had quadruplet Hallen’s, and I could have survived easily. She didn’t need any help going to sleep, she nursed…

Windy Days

windy-days

You guys. I want to move to Florida. We just moved to Charlotte a year ago, but palm trees on the horizon are calling my name! I think we may just have to plant palmetto trees on the borders of our yard here for now ha!We had so much fun visiting family for a few days in sunny Florida. Although, it was warmer in Charlotte then it was there for those few days. We were battling some serious wind. I don’t think I really even needed to apply sunscreen, because I was constantly in a jacket or wrapped…

these-are-a-few-of-my-favorite-things

As a mom, I need things that are quick, easy, accessible, organized, healthy, practical, but still pretty! I’ve rounded up some of my favorite things I’m loving this spring:Floral Booties (mine are sold out, but here are some similar ones)Belly Bandit Bandita Nursing BraThis bra is a little piece of Heaven. Seriously. It doesn’t even feel like I’m wearing it under my clothes, which is exactly what everyone wants out of a bra! I definitely need another one, because it’s one of those pieces that you hate to have to wash. It…

Quiet Game

quiet-game

Good graphic tees are a must. I remember I used to search for just the perfect saying that fit my life. Annnnd, at this point in my life, I think I found the perfect one again! It’s from Brave Little Ones. Besides the gray I’m wearing, it comes in a dusty rose as well.   Let’s Play The Quiet Game! I actually haven’t used this technique on Hallen yet, but I think it’s about time. Next time she plays her whining game, I’ll tell her it’s time to play my quiet game, and…

Family Daze

family-daze

We’ve been having such a great time over the past week. As all of you southerners know, it’s been staying in the 70’s…not that it should come as a huge surprise. Spring always comes a the same time every year! It’s just nice when the warmth actually hangs on instead of having a surprise frost in there! Kevin has had shorter days at work since he’s at a slower phase in construction right now. So, that means more family time. More time to explore. More time to do spring cleaning and spruce things up…
