Third Trimester (Kind Of) Essentials…For Me…

kind-of-essentials-for-me

Second week into my third third trimester. So far, I’ve liked and needed about the same thing for each pregnancy once I’m in the final stretch. I think almost everyone could agree that once you reach 26-27 weeks, you start to actually need certain things to help make you comfortable.

If I could only pick one product to have during my third trimester, and just use everything else that I’d normally use outside of pregnancy for the other “problems” and “uncomfortableness” that comes with that last trimester, I’d choose my pregnancy pillow over and over. There’s nothing like being uncomfortable while you sleep.

So, I’ll be listing all of these in order of importance of this particular pregnancy, because I know everyone is different. You may need 10 completely different things than I do, but I always like seeing what other people are using to give me ideas of what may work for me.

1. Unless I have to wake up and pee, I can seriously sleep a full night in a comfortable position. I just got a new pillow recently from PharMeDoc that I’ve fallen in love with. I still love my old one, but it’s also nice to be able to switch things up and find other positions. This one is a U-shaped pillow, so I can turn from my left to right side and still have the same support. I do have to put my normal pillow under this one so my head is a little higher, but I think that may be personal preference. I’ve always liked to be on a slight incline when pregnant. I feel like I’m suffocating if I’m not. My allergies are terrible + my deviated septum doesn’t help breathing problems….so I’m a hot mess of a sleeper when I’m incubating a human 🤦🏻‍♀️. I also love to use this during nap time while I’m working. It twists and turns perfectly for a little tabletop so I can still be comfy on my bed!

2. Seltzer water. And more seltzer water. I’m kind of over not being able to drink a glass of wine now. After so many months, it just becomes the norm, right? But that doesn’t meant I don’t want something else fun to drink! So I binge on seltzers. My favorite flavors have been the strawberry seltzer from Wal-Mart, Kiwi Sandia La Croix, and Strawberry Perrier. Totally put these on your baby registries! Or maybe just put wine since once the baby is here, you’ll go back to more wine!

3. Good Body Good Mommy running leggings. I think these were on my last list, and they’re still on here. I’m still running, and I need a lot of support now. My pelvis definitely started to loosen up quicker this time than with Hallen. If I don’t wear these for a run (even in the hot weather), my groin/pelvis area is definitely more stiff. Just that little bit of support helps me keep going and more able. {use code Kristina for a discount}

4. Blanqi Leggings. These are on my every trimester pregnancy list (if I had written one) and my postpartum list. I live in these. for support throughout the day and then for nursing once baby comes.

5. Slippers. Who else has feet that just start aching once you gain more weight?! I do! And my feet are naturally cold on our floors around the house, so slippers are a must. I was wearing my old ones until I bought new ones during Labor Day sales, AND THEY ARE AMAZING!! True to size and super soft and supportive since the bottoms have a rubber sole.

6. BAE The Label maternity clothing. Specifically they’re joggers. I wear these so often.

7. Great bras! I’ve been loving Lamaze bras to throw on that have a little extra padding to give me shape during the day, and if I ever feel like I need a sleeping bra, they have one I love too. They’re great prices for everyone, have great colors, and a style everyone would love! And the best part…you can put one in your cart on Amazon next time you’re shopping.

8. Comfy clothing. Everywhere I turn right now, I buy something comfortable. Everything has to have a purpose, be practical, still cute, but majorly comfortable! Some of my favorite pieces have come from places I shopped when I was a teen. So…I feel young and hip again 😂.

Favorite cardi: Still a little warm for outside, but I’ve been wearing it around the house nonstop!

Favorite Pullover: Also too warm for outside, but so nice to snuggle up inside the AC haha!

Broadcloth Boutique in Fort Mill also gets in some amazing sweaters and sweatshirts. I go once a week to make sure I don’t miss out! That’s where I found this lovely black one below that’ll be awesome for nursing and wrangling toddlers who don’t like photos.

9. Maternity jeans! I’ve LOVED my ones from Pink Blush. Like…love loved them! I wear them whenever I want to feel a little dressed up or I can’t be in my leggings or joggers. It’s the ones pictured above. My first pair of side paneled jeans instead of the over the belly. And finally, I love maternity jeans.

10. Exercise. I’ve felt so great this pregnancy exercising. SO GOOD! I know that can’t be said for every pregnancy, so I’m not gloating in the fact that I’ve been able to stay fit or active. I wasn’t able to with Hazel, so I love that I can move my body this time around!

11. Dresses. So many dresses. It’s hot and sweaty, and sometimes I just don’t want to wear pants at all, and the only way I can get away with that is to wear a dress!

A few of my faves have been my maxi dress from Beach Coco Maternity (under $20!):

Ingrid and Isabel shirred maternity dress. I have it in 3 colors and seriously wear the heck out of all of them.

12. Skip Hop Greenwich Diaper Backpack. So, I never needed another diaper bag, but I’m so glad I got my hands on this one to try! I have never used a structured backpack diaper bag, and ohmygoodness is it amazing! I feel like it’s so roomy. I always have extra room in it. And I love the color! It’s easy, because I’m always on the go, need both hands, and love organization! If you’re on the fence about a good diaper bag, give  this one a try! I have it in caramel.

13. Gender neutral newborn clothes. Okay okay. You got me again. Not a necessity. I already have two kids, but it’s so much fun shopping for teeny babes! Kate Quinn organics has been having AMAZING sales, so I’ve basically bought everything. It’s all so soft, organic, and you can buy matching prints in so many sizes!

14. Bralettes. Another bra, I know, but I wanted something sexy and comfortable, so I’ve been stocking up on barrettes from Free People and Vici Collection. And I have to say, if you want a little more support, grab a few of the Vici Collection ones. The stretch is better, and there’s an added padding so if you’re worried about leaking (like I will be), it’s perfect…and cheaper than the real thing!

There may be 10 more things that should be on this list…my brain is a little fried, though. I swear, I forget more than I remember these days! But this should be good for now! Please comment or DM me if you have any specific questions!
