Nailed It – New Office Space

My office. For about the past year, it should have just been labeled Tripping Hazard or Don’t Go in There. Much better than the title of Office, because an office it was definitely not. Nothing about it was workable, and it started to just collect stuff along with my work stuff. There were things long forgotten about, things that needed to be put in the attic, things that needed to be filed, and junk that just needed to be tossed. It’s amazing how quickly little things can just pile up on top of each other when you don’t have a place for them. I don’t know if you’re like me, but when something doesn’t have a place made for it, I procrastinate putting it away. And you may be thinking, “well…you’re a blogger, so you test and try lots of products, right?” Yes..yes I do…so think of turning your kitchen cabinets and closets inside out and just dumping it all on the floor. Have that image? Well, that’s how my “office” felt. It was a mish mash of work, personal files, and dust being collected because there was too much on the floor to even begin to vacuum. And y’all…this is the FIRST room in my home. The FIRST ONE . If it was hidden in a corner somewhere, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, but it’s THE FIRST!

So, thank goodness for the ladies of Nailed It helping me every step of the way with my space. I can honestly say this would have never happened without them. They are pure geniuses of spacial awareness, design, and DIY for everything. You can tune in on their blog, join their Facebook page, and follow along on YouTube to get more tips and tricks for something that perhaps you’re struggling with.

When I first started chatting with them about my office, they sent me a sketch of what I should do with the space to best utilize it for my needs. And it looked perfect. Kevin and I went ahead and started on the shelves with the clothing rack on it, and the following weekend, Misty and Shannon came in and finished the space!

They had prebuilt this little window bench before coming, and have a really great tutorial on it! And then they created my gorgeous gallery wall with the printer shelf on it.

This process allowed Kevin and I to go through all the junk that had accumulated in here and throw it out or donate it! We actually consolidated a HUGE filing cabinet into a much smaller and cuter little wicker basket one. Everything about this space just feels SO incredibly feminine and like me. I look forward to working every single day in here. It’s become my little place of solitude and creativity!

So, Shannon and Misty, if you’re out there reading this, please come tell me what to do with the rest of my trouble areas!

And on top of being just freaking amazing at what they do, Shannon and Misty also own a studio called Nailed It here in the Charlotte area, which is now being franchised in a lot of locations (check to see if there’s one near you). I got to take a few of my friends for a fun DIY party one night to create some fun decor.

If you’re looking for a fun party or girl’s night out or just something to do one day with a friend or significant other, GO! It’s so much fun to create and make something special for your home.

I chose a sign with It Is Well With My Soul on it, and went with some fun springy colors. Everyone there will help you decide on your colors if you’re super indecisive like I am.

I’ve been to Nailed It a few times now, and I’ve honestly never seen a project turn out bad. If you think you aren’t crafty, it doesn’t matter. You’ll feel like you are after you’re done!
