New Boho Guest Room

For the longest time, our guest room was just a catch all room that happened to have a bed and TV that people could sleep in, but it wasn’t welcoming. In fact, we had a king mattress on the ground with a queen box spring and mattress on top of it! Kind of like Princess and the Pea. And then there were all the extra nightstands and dressers that we didn’t want anywhere else. It was kind of ridiculous how much extra furniture we had /still have…we just put it in another nook. It’s a process, right? BUT, I can say that now, our guest room is very welcoming, and I actually want to sleep in it. It has the nicest sheets in the house and since these photos, we added a gorgeous fan. Still a little bit left to do, but it’s functioning and really soothing.

Plus, the girls love it. We hung up a little macrame swing right by the window for them to play in or read in so that the room isn’t just there for guests, but also usable to us! Maybe if one of them just need some personal space since the share a room now…they can go in there with their favorite book and just swing away!

This room wouldn’t have come alive without the incredible wallpaper from Ane Wall Decor. It’s the Carmella Mural. It truly is such a statement wall. We ordered the mural in the self-adhesive vinyl. That’s just what Kevin is comfortable doing since he’s hung it before. It’s a great idea for renter’s to put a little stamp on their home since it’s removable. We also thought that it was great for us, knowing we won’t own this home forever…that it won’t damage the drywall if someone ever wants to take it down (which I know they won’t)! I can’t personally attest to the difficulty of it since I’m always the cheerleader for him putting it up, but I’d say it’s a medium difficulty. The corner pieces are the hardest. The biggest thing is just taking it little by little. If you take too much of the backing off at once, it starts to bubble more easily. Slow and steady wins the race…without too much brow sweat haha!

Another huge part of this room is the bedding. And like I said, it’s nicer than what’s in our room. It’s all from Brooklinen. We chose the Linen Hardcore Bundle Set. It comes with a fitted sheet, flat sheet, two pillow cases, a duvet cover, and then two extra pillow cases. The linen feels SO GOOD! I had never had linen sheets before these, but I just want to cuddle up in them every time I walk into the room. Everything is chemical free, super soft, and already pre-washed and garment dyed.
