Modern Girl’s Room Update

modern-girls-room-update

We’ve been fighting bedtime battles ever since the girls started sleeping in the same room…about four months ago! That’s at least 120 days of arguing and picking our bedtime battles! Tell me it gets better! I know they won’t be little like this for long, but sheesh! Bedtime is wearing me out. ANYWHO! We initially traded in their twin beds for a bunk bed hoping it would help them sleep better without so much playing in their rooms. Well…it hasn’t! Even with our “set rules,” they just want to play, and then continuously come out of their room. I’m not sure I believe those folks who say their kids sleep in a room together peacefully each night. And if there really are some of you out there, don’t tell me!

BUT, I do love their updated modern room. Still trying to figure a few things out, but for the most part, this is it. If you remember how it was before (and here too…I really like to redecorate), we changed a couple bookshelves around for a reading nook in the corner, added a rug, switched out beds, changed the bedding, and added a piece of new wall decor.

And yes, we’re already decorated for Christmas! If you follow me on Instagram, you know how much I love it. I’m thinking of adding a tree in their reading nook as well.

They’ve been having a blast with their new set up. Hallen loves climbing up her ladder every night, and really feels like a big girl. I definitely think she feels like she has her own space now since Hazel isn’t allowed up there. So, that has been good for a little separation since combining rooms.

So, now is where you help me! Give me all your best, tried and true bed time tips if your kiddos share rooms. Our 2 year old is having the most problems right now. And if you guys happen to need to tips too, I’ll share what everyone tells me, and we’ll pray it works! I swear they used to be perfect sleepers, but it seems like this is pretty common.
