essential-oils-nighttime-routines

I love essential oils. I don’t use them daily like I should, but I always know that “there’s an oil for that!” And when something is off in my body, I always like to try and work it out naturally instead of popping an Aspirin. I like to do that with my girls, too. I am so thankful for modern medicine, but I also know that there’s a lot we can do without. That being said, I was sent these roller ball applicators for oils from Floating Feather Essentials to try out. I got the Calm and…

Matching Florals

mommy-me

Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Like…it’s sooner than you think. I know holidays come around the same time each year, so it shouldn’t be a surprise, but somehow it always is, right?! How is that? I’ll figure it out one day! I always say I’ll buy things way ahead of time, but then end up doing last minute shopping.Well, I found the perfect mommy and me outfits for all of you who love to match your daughters! The fun thing is that these are all small shops, so you’re helping…

soundbub-music-to-my-ears

For the past week, we’ve been lucky enough to try out SoundBub. We have Ollie the Owl, but they come in a few different animals. It’s a portable white noise machine/speaker. Where ever we go, he goes too. You can attach it to a carseat, an Ergo, a high chair, prop it on the table or ground, or just place it near your child.Hazel is a relatively easy going baby, but the one thing she needs help with is falling asleep, so I was beyond excited to give SoundBub a try. It comes with two soothing…

One Month Ago

First of all, HAPPY ST. PATTY’S DAY!! You may be going out, drinking green beer, and wearing a shamrock on your cheek with beads around your neck. Definitely not what I’ll be doing, so I’ll be living vicariously through your adventures tonight! Maybe I’ll at least put a shamrock sticker on my cheek. Hallen would probably like to wear one at least. We’ll actually be celebrating Hazel’s one month “birthday.” Or rather…one month ago I pushed Hazel out of you know where au natural, so I deserve a little celebration! Maybe a glass…

Blush is the New Black

I’m seeing blush everywhere this season! It’s everyone’s favorite shoe, top, pair of pants, accessory, and bag. And I have to say…I’m in that crowd. It’s such a sweet color and it’s a great neutral. Blush is such a nice change from the winter black (not that spring is taking my black from me), and a better transition color than just tan.I can’t think of one skin tone that it doesn’t compliment and look good on. And this zipper blouse from Pink Blush is a great staple piece to start…

When I first had Hallen, I was super nervous to nurse in public. I mean…when you’re a first time mom, you never know what the heck you’re doing. You especially don’t know what you’re doing when you’re trying to hide under a cover, lift your shirt up discretely, and make your newborn with a bobble head try to nurse. I had so much anxiety! I don’t think I nursed in public for AT LEAST two months. A couple months in, I found my favorite thing ever! The Undercover Mama tank. I bought three…

First Couple Weeks Home

Going from a family of three to four has definitely been a transition, but not the type of transition that I expected. Everyone told me that one to two kids was going to be the biggest shock. I got so many people telling me that it was going to be so hard and the “oh you just wait. You have it easy now with one!” That one always irked me just a little bit, I’m not going to lie. Why do you feel like you need to trample on my dreams of a growing family? Yes, tell me truths…

Learning how your new baby sleeps (or doesn’t sleep) is one of the trickiest things for me. Hallen was just easy. She napped well and slept well at night since day one. Hazel is also a great sleeper at night, but getting her to sleep for naps is a lot more difficult. Day one of bringing her home from the hospital, we’ve used one swaddle and one swaddle only. It’s such a great one! The Love To Dream swaddle is seriously a life saver. We use it both for naps and night time. Hazel already understands that…
