Welcome Gwenevere “Winnie” Mae

It’s been a month since little Winnie has been in our arms, and I honestly don’t know how it’s already been that long! After your first child, days, months, and weeks really are a big blur. Time goes quicker than that little…

Happiness is Homemade

Isn’t it though? You can create your happiness and joy. Your circumstances may be dim, but you can choose happiness. I know it’s a lot easier said than done, but that’s what we’re trying to teach our girls…and even ourselves…

Stay at Home Spring Break

I know a lot of you guys are still in the negatives up North and out West, but that doesn’t stop spring break daydreaming. We don’t have big plans for spring break since the girls are only in preschool, but they do&nbsp…

Creative Play with Shape Mags

Who tries to set some type of schedule for your kids while they’re at home? I’ve been trying to be more intentional this past year of having some type of plan to follow on the days the big girls don’t go to…

Disney Trip 2018

DISNEY!I’ve been so lazy in writing posts over the past couple months…okay really the past nine. I don’t know what it was about being pregnant, but I had a little less motivation to work during nap time. I wanted to zone…

When Your Mom Instinct Takes Over

My heart is still racing just typing this out. My mind is flowing with the what ifs and could have beens. This post won’t have any pretty photos and possibly not even thoughts that are strung together well, but it had to come out…

Seven.

It’s been seven whole years since we said “I do.” Some days it feels like just yesterday our love story began and others it feels like you’ve always been a part of me. I know that’s super cliché, but it is what…

Weekend Baking

weekend-baking

Do you have an activity that you just LOVED to do with your mom when you were younger? I do! It was baking for sure. My mom baked so many things whether they were homemade (lemon poppyseed bread…yum!) or from a box (funfetti, anyone?!). It was the experience of doing something and creating something with my mom…okay…and licking the bowl, because if it was just the two of us, I got the whole thing to myself! If my brother was around, she’d draw a line down the middle of the bowl, and we’d each get…

SudPrize Bath Balls

sudprize-bath-balls

I know most kids go crazy for bubbles in their baths. I did! It was one thing that would make me jump in the tub when I was younger.Well…we’ve tried bubbles a handful of times with Hallen, and she freaks out. At first, I was like…you’re a kid! Like the bubbles! But, for some reason, her little sassy self just can’t stand them. So, when we first tried SudPrize bath balls, I was nervous. Inside, I was telling myself, “just act normal. Just act normal…pretend this is just like every other bath.” I…

Spring Travels

spring-travels

Our May filled up so quickly! I feel like we’ve been traveling for the past month. We finally found a system that worked to make Hazel happy in the car, though! So, the last two trips were relatively low stress. Just lots of pumping in the car! When there’s a crying baby involved, you don’t really care if you’re hooked up to a pump driving by everyone. If you see something you don’t want to see, don’t look in my windows! We did have such a great time celebrating my grandmother’s 80th birthday…

The half yearly sale is upon us! Most things are 40% off! I’d love to go there and try everything on, but realistically…with two little ones, it’ll all be online this year! It started yesterday and goes until June 4! I love their sales. I always find some of my favorite brands for some great prices! I’ve put together a few of my favorite things just for you! Most of them that I’ve chosen are under $100 on sale, but there are a couple that are still full price, but still at a good price…

Summer Hot Spots

summer-hot-spots

When we first moved to the Charlotte area, we lived right behind the best snoball place EVER! We didn’t realize it until someone told us, though. Once we learned it was just across the street, it became a pretty steady part of our diets. If you’ve never been to a Pelican’s SnoBall place, do yourself a favor, and pop on over to the closest one. It may be an hour’s drive, but it’s worth it! Kevin and I were both so sad when we moved 20 minutes away from ours. But, low and behold, just…

the-mother-i-aspire-to-be

Since the month of May has the day we celebrate all types of mothers, I figured I’d keep the “mom” theme going. What has your mother, or one of your role model’s who’s been like a mother, instilled in you? Were you taught to shoot for the stars, to never stop dreaming, treat others as you would treat yourself, always be kind and respectful? One thing that I’ve always wanted to be as a mother is to be more patient, selfless, a teacher to my kids. I think we all have those days where we, as…

Hazel’s Story

hazels-story

I figured since Hazel is three months old now (as of tomorrow), it’s time to tell her birth story! It’s taken me long enough! You may not be interested in reading it at all, but I always love reading stories about labor, especially when I’m pregnant! You can read Hallen’s birth story here.I had always told EVERYONE that her due date was February 17th even though the doctors went by a due date of the 27th. I said there was no way. I know my cycle like the back of my hand. With so much…

Last Mother’s Day

giving-us-another-child

A Second ChanceJust writing the title of this post, tears stream down my cheeks. I remember the gut wrenching feeling of knowing that one of my children’s hearts had stopped beating who was supposed to be growing inside of me. It was Mother’s Day weekend 2016, and the ER doctor had just delivered us the news that even he didn’t want to say aloud. We lost our baby. He tried to give us hope by telling us maybe I was earlier along than I thought, but I knew there was no chance of that. We had…
